The story

This single volume contains the first three trials of their apprenticeship. Their journey begins with a desperate race against time, carrying a secret message from their Queen to the reclusive Elven Court through a forest that listens and remembers. Next, they must venture into the blighted southern territories to investigate a creeping sickness that corrupts the very land and magic itself, only to discover they are being stalked by a dark reflection of their own group—ruthless, skilled, and with twisted powers of their own.
Finally, the threat comes home. A grand banquet is not a celebration, but a trap set by the Queen to expose a conspiracy festering within Highwind’s own walls. The apprentices are plunged into a game of espionage and hidden passages, where the most dangerous enemies may be the ones smiling from across the hall.
